Barry R. Behr, Ph.D., HCLD

Dr. Behr is a renowned professor, scientist, and lecturer known for his path-breaking researches in reproductive endocrinology and infertility.


Education and Memberships

Graduate of the University of Nevada-Reno, Behr did his honors and Ph.D. in Reproductive Physiology. Did BS in Biology from San Diego State University.

Completed MS (honors) with an emphasis in Reproductive Physiology, Ph.D. in Biology with an emphasis in Reproductive Physiology from the University of Nevada-Reno.

Qualified Medical Technologist in chemistry and hematology, Licensed General Supervisor for Chemistry/Reproductive Endocrinology and Hematology/Andrology in the state of Nevada. Board Certified (Annual) High Complexity Laboratory Director (HCLD) having subspecialties in Embryology and Andrology. Board Certified (Annual) Embryology Laboratory Director (ELD).


Worked as a Research Assistant at Departments of Biology and Animal Science University Reno, Nevada. Embryologist at Northern Nevada Fertility Center Reno, Nevada. Worked as an Embryologist (Part-time), and Director of In Vitro Fertilization Laboratory, and Associate Director and Administrative Manager of Reproductive Endocrinology and Andrology Labs at Pacific Fertility Center in Sacramento, California. 

Worked as Inspector at Joint American Fertility Society/College Associated Pathologists and (AFS/CAP) Commission for ART Laboratory Accreditation. Director of In Vitro Fertilization/Assisted Reproduction Laboratories, Division of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility, Department of Gynecology & Obstetrics at Stanford University Medical Center. Performed the role of Associate Director of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) Laboratory, Division of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility, Department of Gynecology & Obstetrics at Stanford University Medical Center. 

Adjunct Assistant Professor of Animal Science in the School of Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences at Sul Ross State University Alpine, Texas.  Was a member of faculty at the University of Danube, Austria for a Master in Clinical Embryology Program. Played a pivotal role as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Gynecology & Obstetrics at Stanford University. Worked as a Voluntary Clinical Faculty for the College of Health Sciences and Department of Clinical Sciences at the University of Kentucky. 

Worked as Professor and Associate Professor of Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Stanford University. Was a Guest Professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. 

Founder of Auxogyn, Blastogen, and Co-Founder of IVIGen. Clinical Consultant of American Board of Bioanalysis. Interim Director of Transgenic Research Center at Stanford University. Faculty Advisor at Transgenic Knockout and Tumor Model Center.

Behr has been awarded with Phi Kappa Phi (Undergraduate General Academic Excellence), Gamma Sigma Delta (Honor Society Association), National Register’s Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals, Human Reproduction Top Reviewer, Doctor of the Month by Fertility Authority, and ASRM Star Award.
